Section 25-4309 - Same; petition; form; certain acts crimes(a) If the secretary of state certifies the application, he or she shall prescribe the form of, and prepare, a petition containing (1) the name and office of the person to be recalled, (2) the statement of the grounds for recall included in the application, (3) the statement of warning required in subsection (b), (4) sufficient space for signatures and addresses, and (5) other specifications prescribed by the secretary of state to assure proper handling and control. Petitions, for purposes of circulation, shall be prepared by the secretary of state in a number reasonably calculated to allow full circulation throughout the state or throughout the election district of the state officer sought to be recalled. The secretary of state shall number each petition and shall keep a record of the petitions delivered to each sponsor.(b) Any person who signs a name other than that person's own name to a petition for recall of a state officer, or who knowingly signs more than once for the same proposition at one election, or who signs the petition knowing he or she is not a registered elector is guilty of a class B misdemeanor.
