Section 25-2423 - Election tampering(a) Election tampering is:(1) Making or changing any election record unless the person is lawfully carrying out an election duty;(2) changing or attempting to change, alter, destroy or conceal any vote cast by paper ballot, election machine or computer;(3) changing or attempting to change any vote by manipulating computer hardware, computer software, election machine, wireless or cellular transmission or vote tabulation methods; or(4) knowingly producing false vote totals.(b) Election tampering is a severity level 7, nonperson felony.Amended by L. 2021, ch. 97,§ 4, eff. 1/1/2022.Amended by L. 2015, ch. 87,§ 6, eff. 7/1/2015.L. 1974, ch. 157, § 17; L. 1993, ch. 291, § 209; July 1.
