Section 19-15,121 - Courtrooms and facilities in urban area counties; general obligation bonds; limitations

The board of county commissioners of any county which has been designated an urban area by the legislature is hereby authorized and empowered to issue general obligation bonds of such county to pay all or any part of the cost of providing additional district court rooms and court facilities at the county seat. The courthouse may be improved, altered, repaired, reconstructed, furnished, equipped, extended, added on to, enlarged or subjected to any other work which will enhance, extend or restore the value or utility of the courthouse as a site for district court facilities. District court facilities shall include but are not limited to courtrooms, jury rooms, witness rooms, work and storage space for judges, clerk of the district court, bailiffs and court reporters, witness rooms and necessary furnishings. Such bonds may be issued by such county in an amount not to exceed six hundred fifty thousand dollars ($650,000) without the same being authorized by election but shall be issued subject to the provisions of K.S.A. 19-15,122.
