Section 9-18.1-14-2 - Application; false statement; violation(a) A person that desires to register an off-road vehicle or a snowmobile must submit an application, in a form and manner prescribed by the bureau, that contains the following:(1) The name of the owner of the off-road vehicle or snowmobile and, if the off-road vehicle or snowmobile is leased, the name of the lessee.(2) The person's address in Indiana, including the county and township, on the date of the application, as follows:(A) If the person is an individual, the person's residence address. However, if the person participates in the address confidentiality program under IC 5-26.5, the address may be a substitute address designated by the office of the attorney general under IC 5-26.5.(B) If the person is not an individual, the person's principal office in Indiana.(C) If the person does not have a physical residence or office in Indiana, the county and township in Indiana where the off-road vehicle or snowmobile will be primarily operated.(3) A description of the off-road vehicle or snowmobile to be registered, including the identification number and color of the off-road vehicle or snowmobile.(4) Any other information required by the bureau. The bureau may not register an off-road vehicle or a snowmobile that does not have an identification number.
(b) An application made online or through the United States mail is not required to be sworn or notarized.(c) A person may apply on behalf of another person to register an off-road vehicle or a snowmobile under this chapter. However, the person in whose name the off-road vehicle or snowmobile will be registered must sign and verify the application.(d) A person that makes a false statement in an application under this section commits a Class C infraction.Pre-2016 Revision Citations: 9-18-2.5-4; 9-18-2.5-6(c).
