Section 32-17-14-32 - Out-of-state beneficiary designations(a) Except for transfer on death deeds, a beneficiary designation that purports to have been made and is valid under: (1) the Uniform Probate Code as enacted by another state;(2) the Uniform TOD Security Registration Law as enacted by another state; or(3) a similar law of another state; is governed by the law of that state.
(b) A transfer on death transfer subject to a law described in subsection (a) may be executed and enforced in Indiana.(c) Except for transfer on death deeds, the meaning and legal effect of a transfer on death transfer is determined by the law of the state selected in a governing instrument or beneficiary designation.As added by P.L. 143-2009, SEC.41.
