Section 29-3.5-2-1 - Considerations in determining jurisdiction In determining under section 3 of this chapter and IC 29-3.5-3-1(d) whether a respondent has a significant connection with a particular state, the court shall consider:
(1) the location of the respondent's family and other persons required to be notified of the guardianship or protective proceeding;(2) the length of time the respondent at any time was physically present in the state and the duration of any absence;(3) the location of the respondent's property; and(4) the extent to which the respondent has ties to the state such as registering to vote, filing a state or local tax return, registering a vehicle, possessing a driver's license, having social relationships, and receiving services in the state.Added by P.L. 178-2011, SEC. 10, eff. 7/1/2011.
