Section 25-26-13-25.3 - Dispensing injectable epinephrine; expiration date at least 12 months after dispensing date; therapeutic alternative(a) A pharmacy may not dispense injectable epinephrine or glucagon to a person unless:(1) the injectable epinephrine or glucagon has an expiration date of not less than twelve (12) months from the date that the drug is dispensed; or(2) the person consents to the injectable epinephrine or glucagon having an expiration date of less than twelve (12) months from the date that the drug is dispensed.(b) Except as provided in IC 25-26-16.5, a pharmacist may substitute a therapeutic alternative (as defined in IC 25-26-16.5-4) for epinephrine products for a patient.Amended by P.L. 114-2020,SEC. 12, eff. 7/1/2020.Added by P.L. 246-2019,SEC. 10, eff. 7/1/2019.
