Section 20-19-9-4 - Establishment of dedicated virtual education school; separate school identification number; rules(a) If the lesser of at least:(1) one hundred (100) students of a school corporation; or(2) thirty percent (30%) of the total number of students enrolled in the school corporation; receive at least fifty percent (50%) of instruction through a school corporation's virtual education program, the school corporation shall establish a dedicated virtual education school.
(b) The department shall assign a separate school identification number for the dedicated virtual education school.(c) Before July 1, 2022, the state board shall adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 to establish financial reporting and oversight required by a school corporation and a vendor who enter into or renew a contract relating to the operation of a dedicated virtual education school.Amended by P.L. 216-2021,SEC. 10, eff. 4/29/2021.Added by P.L. 211-2019,SEC. 18, eff. 7/1/2019.
