Section 14-32-7-8.5 - "Soil surveys and geographic information systems"(a) As used in this section, "soil survey" means a systematic scientific identification, inventory, and mapping of the soils of a given area that sets forth the capabilities, potential, and limitations of the soils in the satisfaction of human needs.(b) The Indiana state department of agriculture shall use the money appropriated by the general assembly to implement and supplement a program of modern soil surveys and geographic information systems (GIS) for Indiana that will, within the shortest practicable time, provide a modern soil survey and geographic information system for each county as an essential tool in land conservation.As added by P.L. 136-1997, SEC.40.
