Section 720 ILCS 5/33-9 - Law enforcement misconduct(a) A law enforcement officer or a person acting under color of law commits law enforcement misconduct when, in the performance of his or her official duties with intent to prevent the apprehension or obstruct the prosecution or defense of any person, he or she : (1) knowingly and intentionally misrepresents or fails to provide material facts describing an incident in any report or during any investigations regarding the law enforcement employee's conduct;(2) knowingly and intentionally withholds any knowledge of the material misrepresentations of another law enforcement officer from the law enforcement employee's supervisor, investigator, or other person or entity tasked with holding the law enforcement officer accountable; or(3) knowingly and intentionally fails to comply with paragraphs (3), (5), (6), and (7) of subsection (a) of Section 10-20 of the Law Enforcement Officer-Worn Body Camera Act.
