Section 205 ILCS 740/18 - [Section Scheduled to be Repealed 1/1/2026] Subpoenas; oaths; attendance of witnesses
(a) The Department has the power to subpoena documents, books, records, or other materials and to bring before it any person and to take testimony either orally or by deposition, or both, with the same fees and mileage and in the same manner as prescribed in civil cases in the courts of this State.
(b) The Secretary , the designated hearing officer, and every member of the Board has power to administer oaths to witnesses at any hearing that the Department is authorized to conduct and any other oaths authorized in any Act administered by the Department.
(c) Any circuit court may, upon application of the Department or designee or of the applicant or licensee against whom proceedings under this Act are pending, enter an order requiring the attendance of witnesses and their testimony, and the production of documents, papers, files, books, and records in connection with any hearing or investigations. The court may compel obedience to its order by proceedings for contempt.
