Section 70 ILCS 2205/3 - Vote on question of organization

Upon such determination, the court shall order to be submitted to the legal voters of the proposed sanitary district at an election in which all of the electors in the proposed district may vote the question of the organization and establishment thereof, as determined by the commissioners, or a majority of them. The court shall certify its order and the question to the proper election officials who shall submit the question at an election in accordance with the general election law. In addition to the requirements of the general election law, notice of such election shall state briefly the purpose of such election, and contain a description of the proposed district. Each legal voter residing within the proposed sanitary district shall have the right to cast a vote at such election. The question shall be in substantially the following form: "For Sanitary District" or "Against Sanitary District". If a majority of the votes cast upon the question of the incorporation of the proposed sanitary district shall be in favor of the same, the inhabitants thereof shall be deemed to have accepted the provisions of this Act, and the same shall thenceforth be deemed an organized sanitary district under this Act, with the name stated in the petition.
