Section 55 ILCS 5/5-1131 - Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator; Posting and Publication(a) Within 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly, each county that maintains a website must post on the county's website the following information: (1) the name, office address, and telephone number of the Americans with Disabilities Act coordinator, if any, employed by the county; and (2) the grievance procedures, if any, adopted by the county to resolve complaints alleging a violation of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. (b) If a county does not maintain a website, then the county must, within 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly, and at least once every other year thereafter, publish in either a newspaper of general circulation within the county or a newsletter published by the county and mailed to county residents the information required in item (1) of subsection (a) and either the information required in item (2) of subsection (a) or instructions for obtaining such information from the county. (c) No home rule county may adopt posting or publication requirements that are less restrictive than this Section. This Section is a limitation under subsection (i) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution on the concurrent exercise by home rule units of powers and functions exercised by the State.Added by P.A. 096-0650,§ 5, eff. 1/1/2010.
