Section 5 ILCS 312/2-101.5 - [Effective Until 1/1/2025] Course of study and examination(a) Applicants applying for the first time as a notary public or as an electronic notary public or applying to renew his or her appointment as a notary public or as an electronic notary public shall: (1) complete any course of study on notarization and electronic notarization that is required by the Secretary of State; and(2) pass an examination at the completion of the course.(b) The Secretary of State shall have the authority to adopt administrative rules mandating a course of study and examination and establishing the course of study content, length of the course of study to be required, and to approve any course of study providers.Added by P.A. 102-0160,§ 5, eff. 6/5/2023, (see P.A. 103-0562,§ 91, eff. 11/17/2023).This section is set out more than once due to postponed, multiple, or conflicting amendments.
