Section 51-50i - Senior judges, reappointment, successors(a) Any judge who retires from full-time active service, who has not attained the age of seventy and who is an elector and a resident of this state, shall be a senior judge of the court of which he is a member during the remainder of the term of office for which he was appointed, and he shall be eligible for reappointment to succeeding terms as such senior judge in the manner prescribed by law for the appointment of a judge of the court of which he is a member.(b) A successor to any judge who retires shall be appointed in the manner prescribed by law.(c) Any senior judge of the Court of Common Pleas or the Juvenile Court shall be eligible for appointment in accordance with subsection (a) of this section to a term as a senior judge of the Superior Court provided such senior judge shall not attain the age of seventy prior to July 1, 1978.Conn.
