Section 46b-479 - Acknowledgment equivalent to an adjudication of parentage

Except as provided in section 31 of this act, an acknowledgment of parentage that complies with sections 24 to 35, inclusive, of this act and is filed with the Department of Public Health is equivalent to an adjudication by the Superior Court of parentage of the child and confers on the acknowledged parent all rights and duties of a parent.
