Section 20-349 - License required. Application
(a) No person shall install, service, maintain, recondition or repair receiving equipment of another, or procure the services of a third person to act on his behalf in the installation, servicing, maintenance, reconditioning or repair of receiving equipment of another without a license or a temporary permit issued for such purpose in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.
(b) No person shall offer by advertisement, telephone or in any other manner to install, service, maintain or repair receiving equipment unless such person has been licensed for such purpose in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.
(c) Any person desiring to be licensed under this chapter shall apply to the board in writing, on forms which the Department of Consumer Protection shall provide, stating:
(1) Such person's name, residence address and business address;
(2) a brief description of his qualifications, including the length and nature of his experience;
(3) in the case of an apprentice, the name of his employer or supervisor; and
(4) such other information as the department may require. Each application for a license as a service dealer shall be accompanied by a fee of two hundred dollars. Each application for a license as a licensed electronics technician, licensed antenna technician or licensed radio electronics technician shall be accompanied by a fee of eighty dollars. Each application for a permit as an apprentice shall be accompanied by a fee of forty dollars. If a service dealer as an individual is a licensed electronics technician or licensed radio electronics technician, only one license fee shall be charged in the amount of two hundred dollars. All such fees shall be paid to the department.
