Section 10-10i - Report on student data
(a)
(1) The Commissioner of Education shall biennially submit to the legislative Office of Fiscal Analysis a report on data relating to students collected in the state-wide public school information system, pursuant to section 10-10a. Such data shall include the following information for each student:
(A) Grade;
(B) resident municipality;
(C) reporting district;
(D) each facility attended;
(E) whether the student receives a free or reduced-price lunch;
(F) whether the student is an English language learner;
(G) any special program status code; and
(H) whether the student is enrolled at no expense to the resident municipality.
(2) Such report shall not include any personally identifiable information of students, such as names or the unique student identifier assigned to each student.
(b) The report on data relating to students shall be submitted (1) after February second, but not later than February fifteenth, and such submission shall include student data for the current school year, and (2) not later than August thirtieth, and such submission shall include student data for the prior school year.
(c) The report on data relating to students shall be submitted to the legislative Office of Fiscal Analysis on compatible magnetic media, as determined by the office in consultation with the commissioner.
(d) Any information included in the report on data relating to students may only be used by employees of the legislative Office of Fiscal Analysis for the purpose of research and reporting in the course of their duties for the General Assembly. No such employee may disclose or otherwise make known any such information that would allow or lead to the identification of any student.
