Section 42-60.1-3 - Scope - Exemptions(a) The provisions of this chapter apply to the certification and enforcement of efficiency standards for the following types of new appliances sold, offered for sale, or installed in the state: (1) Fluorescent ballasts of F40T12 and F96T12 lamps; and(2) Luminaires with fluorescent ballasts for F40T12 and F96T12 lamps.(b) The provisions of this chapter do not apply to new appliances manufactured in Rhode Island and sold outside of the state; new appliances manufactured outside of Rhode Island and sold at wholesale inside of the state for final retail sale and installation outside of Rhode Island; appliances installed in mobile homes at the time of construction; or appliances designed expressly for installation and use in recreational vehicles.R.I.
