Section 465.0126 - Nuclear pharmacist license; application, renewal, fees

The department shall issue or renew a nuclear pharmacist license upon receipt of an initial or renewal application which conforms to the requirements for nuclear pharmacist initial licensure or biennial renewal as established by the board by rule and receipt of a fee established by the board by rule not to exceed $250, which fee shall be in addition to the initial licensure or biennial renewal fee for pharmacists. The nuclear pharmacist shall be responsible for the compounding and the dispensing of nuclear pharmaceuticals, for maintaining all drug records required by law, for establishing drug handling procedures for the safe handling and storage of radiopharmaceuticals and medicinal drugs, for providing the security of the prescription department, and for complying with such other rules as relate to the practice of the profession of pharmacy. The nuclear pharmacist must have completed such additional training and must demonstrate such additional qualifications in the practice of nuclear pharmacy as is required by the board by rule in addition to licensure as a registered pharmacist. The board shall adopt rules necessary to implement and administer this section. The requirements of this section do not apply to hospitals licensed under chapter 395 or the nuclear medicine facilities of such hospitals.
