Section 235 - DefinitionsFor the purposes of this article:
1. "Rural area" shall mean a county with a population of two hundred thousand persons or less, or a town with a population density of one hundred fifty persons or less per square mile.2. "Rural health care provider" or "rural provider" shall mean any agency, corporation, facility, or individual providing medical and/or health care services to residents of a rural area.3. "Office" shall mean the Charles D. Cook office of rural health, as created pursuant to section two hundred thirty-six of this article.4. "Rural health council" shall mean the rural health council established pursuant to section two hundred thirty-six-b of this title.N.Y. Pub. Health Law § 235
