Section 906 - Driver's license verification; data retention1. A peer-to-peer car sharing program administrator shall not enter into a peer-to-peer car sharing program agreement with a driver unless the driver who will operate the shared vehicle furnishes proof, by electronic means or otherwise, of: (a) a valid New York driver's license which authorizes the driver to operate vehicles of the class of the shared vehicle;(b) a valid driver's license issued by the state or country of the driver's residence which authorizes the driver in such state or country to drive vehicles of the class of the shared vehicle and is the age required of a New York resident to operate that class of vehicle; or(c) being otherwise specifically authorized by a valid license to operate vehicles of the class of the shared vehicle.2. A peer-to-peer car sharing program administrator shall keep a record of:(a) the name and address of the shared vehicle driver;(b) the identification number of the driver's license of the shared vehicle driver and each other person, if any, who shall operate the shared vehicle; and(c) the date and place of issuance of the driver's license for each such vehicle operator.Amended by New York Laws 2022, ch. 129,Secs. 9, 15 eff. 2/24/2022.Renumbered from , § 907 by New York Laws 2022, ch. 129,Sec. 8, eff. 2/24/2022.Added by New York Laws 2021, ch. 795,Sec. 3, eff. 3/22/2022.
