Section 18-12-502 - Records - penalty(1) A licensed gun dealer who obtains a background check on a prospective transferee shall record the transfer, as provided in section 18-12-402, and retain the records, as provided in section 18-12-403, in the same manner as when conducting a sale, rental, or exchange at retail.(2) Any individual who knowingly gives false information in connection with the making of such records commits a class 1 misdemeanor and shall be punished as provided in section 18-1.3-501.Amended by 2021 Ch. 462, § 353, eff. 3/1/2022.Renumbered from C.R.S. § 12-26.1-102 and amended by 2018 Ch. 8, § 5, eff. 10/1/2018.L. 2018: Entire part added with relocations, (SB 18 -032), ch. 152, p. 152, § 5, effective October 1. (2) Section 803(2) of chapter 462 (SB 21-271), Session Laws of Colorado 2021, provides that the act changing this section applies to offenses committed on or after March 1, 2022.
