Section 10-302 - Zoning regulations - Purposes; considerationsZoning regulations adopted by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City under this subtitle shall:
(1) be in accordance with the plan;(2) be designed to: (i) control street congestion;(ii) promote health, public safety, and general welfare;(iii) provide adequate light and air;(iv) promote the conservation of natural resources;(v) prevent environmental pollution;(vi) properly manage growth and development; and(vii) promote or facilitate adequate transportation, water, sewerage, schools, recreation, parks, and other public facilities; and(3) include reasonable consideration for: (i) the character of the district or zone and its suitability for particular uses;(ii) the conservation of the value of buildings and other structures; and(iii) encouragement for orderly development and the most appropriate use of land throughout Baltimore City.Amended by 2013 Md.
