Section 20-1501 - Definitions(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.(b) "Down syndrome" means a chromosomal condition caused by an error in cell division that results in the presence of an extra whole or partial copy of chromosome 21.(c)(1) "Health care facility" means a facility or an office where health or medical care is provided to patients by a health care provider.(2) "Health care facility" includes a hospital and a limited service hospital.(d)(1) "Health care provider" means a person who is licensed, certified, or otherwise authorized under the Health Occupations Article to provide health or medical care in the ordinary course of business or practice of a profession.(2) "Health care provider" includes a genetic counselor.(e) "Hospital" has the meaning stated in § 19-301 of this article.(f) "Limited service hospital" has the meaning stated in § 19-301 of this article.Added by 2014 Md.
