Section 15-106.9 - AmeriCorps Program participants - Waiver of residency requirement for in-State tuition
(a) In this section, "residency requirement" means the requirement of a public senior higher education institution for a student to have resided in the State for 12 consecutive months to be considered a resident and receive in-State tuition status.
(b) For in-State tuition purposes, a public senior higher education institution shall waive the in-State residency requirement for an individual who has completed:
(1) All service hours for an AmeriCorps Program in the State; or
(2) A service program under the Maryland Corps Program under Title 21, Subtitle 2 of the State Government Article.
(c) A student is responsible for the difference between in-State and out-of-state tuition if the student does not retain residence in the State for the remainder of the school year for which in-State tuition was received.
