Section 7-1401 - Definitions(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.(b) "Quality online education standards" means the National Standards for Quality Online Programs: Second Edition (2019).(c) "Sponsor" means a county board, having a fiduciary responsibility for the operation of the virtual school.(d) "Virtual school" means a public school: (1) Established by a county board or multiple county boards under a written agreement under § 4-109 of this article;(2) That uses one or more technologies to deliver instruction to its students entirely or primarily online; and(3) In which the students and instructors participate remotely from separate locations.Amended by 2023 Md.
