Section 4-305 - Chief Academic Officer(a) There is a Chief Academic Officer in the Baltimore City Public School System who shall: (1) Be responsible for the development and implementation of the curriculum taught and the instruction provided in the Baltimore City Public School System; and(2) Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.(b) The Chief Executive Officer shall, subject to the approval of the board: (1) Select the Chief Academic Officer; and(2) Establish the salary of the Chief Academic Officer.(c) The employment contract of the Chief Academic Officer shall provide, at a minimum, that continued employment is contingent on demonstrable improvement in the academic performance of the students in the Baltimore City Public School System.(d) The Chief Academic Officer is not a public officer under the Constitution or the laws of the State.
