Section 14-4608 - [Effective 10/1/2024] [Effective 10/1/2025](a) A violation of this subtitle: (1) Is an unfair, abusive, or deceptive trade practice; and(2) Except for § 13-410 of this article, is subject to the enforcement provisions contained in Title 13 of this article.(b) A covered entity that violates this subtitle is subject to a civil penalty not exceeding: (1) $2,500 per affected child for each negligent violation; and(2) $7,500 per affected child for each intentional violation.(c) The Division shall pay all fines, penalties, and expenses collected by the Division under this subsection into the General Fund with the intent that fines, penalties, and expenses be used to fully offset any costs incurred by the Division in connection with this subtitle.Added by 2024 Md.
