Section 44-43-580 - Trafficking in dead bodies; penalty; authorization to traffic in anatomical material and pathological specimens(A) It is unlawful for a person to sell or buy a dead human body or in any way to traffic in dead human bodies.(B) A person who violates subsection (A) is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than two hundred dollars or, in the discretion of the court, be imprisoned not more than one year; however, the board may, on the application of any person, empower that person to import into this State and traffic in anatomical material and pathological specimens as the board may designate.2006 Act No. 334, Section 1, eff 6/2/2006; 1909 (26) 166; Civ.
