Section 44-130-75 - Opioid antidote distribution(A) A hospital, by and through a health care provider employed by the hospital, may distribute an opioid antidote to:(1) a person at risk of experiencing an opiate-related overdose; or(2) a caregiver of a person at risk of experiencing an opiate-related overdose.(B) A hospital that distributes an opioid antidote in accordance with the provisions of this section is not, as a result of an act or omission, subject to civil or criminal liability. A health care provider employed by a hospital that distributes an opioid antidote for the hospital in accordance with the provisions of this section is not, as a result of an act or omission, subject to civil or criminal liability or subject to disciplinary action by the health care provider's licensing board.Added by 2022 S.C.
