Section 45-48-230.03 - Providing for the Sheriff of Marshall County to receive uniform increases in compensation
(a) After the effective date of this act, the Sheriff of Marshall County shall be entitled to receive the same uniform increases in compensation, such as cost-of-living increases, granted to other elected county officers in Marshall County.
(b) During the current term of any sheriff serving on the effective date of this act, the uniform increases shall be paid to the sheriff as expense allowances. Effective beginning the next term of office of any sheriff elected or appointed after the effective date of this act, any uniform increases paid to the sheriff as an expense allowance shall be converted to salary and added to the annual salary of the sheriff rounded to the nearest dollar.
(c) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 11-2A-4 of the Code of Alabama 1975, any uniform increases granted to any sheriff pursuant to this section shall be added to the permanent salary of the Sheriff of Marshall County elected or appointed after the effective date of this act.
(d) Any uniform increases in compensation granted to the Sheriff of Marshall County shall be in addition to any other compensation granted to the sheriff.
