Section 45-3-230.41 - Salary increase
(a) Effective on the first day of the month following the effective date of this act, the annual salary of the Sheriff of Barbour County shall be increased by twenty-nine thousand dollars ($29,000) per year. The additional compensation provided by this section shall be paid from the general fund of the county in the same manner as the salary of the sheriff is currently paid. Notwithstanding subsection (b) of Section 45-3-230.40, Code of Alabama 1975, the salary increase provided by this section shall be in addition to any other compensation provided by law.
(b) In addition to any other compensation provided to the sheriff, the sheriff shall be entitled to the same uniform increases in compensation, including cost-of-living increases, that are granted equally after the effective date of this act to all county employees of Barbour County, notwithstanding any provisions of Section 11-2A-4, Code of Alabama 1975, to the contrary.
