Section 34-20-1 - DefinitionsFor purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the respective meanings ascribed by this section:
(1) BOARD. The Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators of the State of Alabama.(2) EXAMINER. A member of the Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators of the State of Alabama.(3) SECRETARY. The Secretary of the Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators of the State of Alabama.(4) NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATOR. Any individual who is charged with the general administration of a nursing home, whether or not such individual has an ownership interest in such home and whether or not his or her functions and duties are shared with one or more other individuals.(5) PROVISIONAL LICENSE. A temporary license issued to a provisional nursing home administrator by the Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators.(6) PROVISIONAL NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATOR. An individual who has been issued a provisional license by the Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators of the State of Alabama.(7) PRACTICE OF NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATION. The planning, organizing, directing, and control of the operation of a nursing home.(8) NURSING HOME. Any institution or facility defined as such for licensing purposes under state law.Ala.
