Section 29-4-40 - Staff assistance(a) The Secretary of the Senate and the Clerk of the House of Representatives shall furnish to each joint committee for which staff assistance is not provided in the act creating the joint committee, the staff assistance reasonably necessary to enable the committee to perform its assigned function.(b) Staff furnished pursuant to this section shall be compensated as other legislative staff at rates approved by the Legislative Council .(c) For purposes of this section, staff assistance includes, but is not limited to, secretaries, consultants, and technical or professional persons.Ala.
