Section 5079.80 - Creation(a) The Natural Resources and Parks Preservation Fund is hereby created in the State Treasury, to be administered by the Secretary of the Natural Resources Agency.(b) The fund shall consist of moneys deposited in the fund pursuant to any law.(c) Moneys in the fund shall be available, upon appropriation by the Legislature, for programs to restore, preserve, protect, manage, or enhance California's natural, historical, or cultural resources or the environmental quality of the state.(d) Programs eligible for funding include, but are not limited to, programs that would further the purposes of the Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood Control, River and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2006 (Division 43 (commencing with Section 75001)) or the Water Quality, Supply, and Infrastructure Improvement Act of 2014 (Division 26.7 (commencing with Section 79700) of the Water Code).(e)(1) Chapter 3.5 (commencing with Section 11340) of Part 1 of Division 3 of Title 2 of the Government Code shall not apply to the development and adoption of program guidelines and selection criteria adopted to provide grants from the fund. This paragraph shall not be construed to exempt other uses of the fund from application of that chapter.(2) Prior to adopting program guidelines and selection criteria for providing grants from the fund, the agency shall conduct public outreach at meetings and workshops offering all interested parties an opportunity to comment.Ca.
