Section 80061 - Per capita basis funding for local park rehabilitation, creation, and improvement grants to local government; urbanized counties(a) The sum of two hundred million dollars ($200,000,000) shall be available to the department, upon appropriation by the Legislature, for local park rehabilitation, creation, and improvement grants to local governments on a per capita basis. Grant recipients shall be encouraged to utilize awards to rehabilitate existing infrastructure and to address deficiencies in neighborhoods lacking access to the outdoors.(b) The sum of fifteen million dollars ($15,000,000) shall be available to the department, upon appropriation by the Legislature, for grants to cities and districts in urbanized counties providing park and recreation services within jurisdictions of 200,000 or less in population. For purposes of this subdivision, "urbanized county" means a county with a population of 500,000 or more. An entity eligible to receive funds under this subdivision shall also be eligible to receive funds available under subdivision (a).(c) Unless the project has been identified as serving a severely disadvantaged community, an entity that receives an award pursuant to this section shall be required to provide a match of 20 percent as a local share.Ca.
