Section 6223 - [Repealed Effective 1/1/2025] Certificate of compliance needed; violation(a) A person shall not knowingly present for recording or filing with a county recorder a deed, instrument, or other document related to a conveyance subject to Section 8560 of the Public Resources Code unless it is accompanied by a certificate of compliance from the State Lands Commission. A person who presents for recording or filing with a county recorder a deed, instrument, or other document in violation of this section is liable for a civil penalty not to exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000).(b) Civil penalties collected pursuant to this section shall be deposited into the state General Fund.Repealed by Stats 2024 ch 139 (SB 1520),s 2, eff. 1/1/2025.Added by Stats 2017 ch 535 (SB 50),s 2, eff. 1/1/2018.
