Section 88207.5 - Leave for birth or adoption(a) A contract or regular employee may use up to 30 days of leave in a school year, less any days of leave authorized pursuant to Section 88207, in either of the following circumstances: (1) A biological parent may use leave pursuant to this section within the first year of his or her infant's birth.(2) A nonbiological parent may use leave pursuant to this section within the first year of legally adopting a child.(b) If the provisions of this section are in conflict with the terms of a collective bargaining agreement in effect before January 1, 2015, the provisions of this section do not apply to the public employer and public employees subject to that agreement until the expiration or renewal of the agreement.Amended by Stats 2015 ch 303 (AB 731),s 133, eff. 1/1/2016.Added by Stats 2014 ch 56 (AB 1606),s 2, eff. 1/1/2015.
