Section 1287 - Misdemeanor; punishment(a) Any person who violates any provision of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable upon conviction by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding six months or by fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by both.(b)(1) Notwithstanding subdivision (a), a violation of Section 1281.1 is a public offense and is punishable upon conviction by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year, or by a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by both that imprisonment and fine.(2) Notwithstanding subdivision (a), a violation of Section 1282.2 is a public offense and is punishable upon conviction by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year, or by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by both that imprisonment and fine.(3) The enforcement remedies provided under this section are not exclusive, and shall not preclude the use of any other criminal or civil remedy. However, an act or omission punishable in different ways by this section and any other provision of law shall not be punished under more than one provision. Under those circumstances, the penalty to be imposed shall be determined as set forth in Section 654 of the Penal Code.Ca. Bus. and Prof'l. Code § 1287
