Section 17-81-201 - Creation - Members - Appointment(a) The Arkansas State Board of Chiropractic Examiners is established.(b)(1) The board shall be composed of seven (7) members appointed by the Governor subject to confirmation by the Senate for terms of five (5) years.(2)(A) Five (5) members shall be qualified chiropractors.(B) The Governor shall consult the Arkansas Chiropractic Physicians Association and the Arkansas Chiropractic Society before making an appointment under this subdivision (b)(2).(3)(A) Two (2) members of the board shall not be actively engaged in or retired from the profession of chiropractic.(B) One (1) member shall represent consumers, and one (1) member shall be sixty (60) years of age or older and shall be the representative of the elderly.(C) Both members shall be appointed from the state at large subject to confirmation by the Senate.(D) The two (2) positions may not be held by the same person.(E) Both shall be full voting members.(c) When a vacancy occurs on the board for any reason, the vacancy may be filled by appointment by the Governor for the unexpired term.
