Section 17-20-103 - Exemptions - Construction(a) The following persons, firms, or corporations are exempt from the provisions under this chapter while in the proper discharge of their professional duties: (1) Persons licensed by the laws of this state to practice the healing arts;(2) Commissioned medical or surgical officers of the United States Army, United States Navy, or United States Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service;(3) Persons licensed or registered by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing;(4) Undertakers and morticians; and(5) Jails, prisons, or penitentiaries.(b) Nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed so as to conflict in any manner with the laws regulating the vocation of cosmetic therapy or beauty culture.Amended by Act 2017, No. 1060,§ 3, eff. 8/1/2017.Acts 1937, No. 313, § 21; Pope's Dig., § 12089; Acts 1951, No. 127, § 9; A.S.A. 1947, § 71-521.
