Section 15-782.01 - Instructors; specialized teaching certificate; qualifications; rules; definitionA. In addition to any other current certification issued, the state board of education shall issue a specialized standard teaching certificate in STEM or career and technical education to a person who provides instruction in a career and technical education course or program or STEM-related course that is offered by a school district or career technical education district if the person does all of the following:1. Demonstrates expertise in the subject matter in which the person will provide instruction.2. Demonstrates at least five years of work experience in the subject matter in which the person will provide instruction.3. Complies with the fingerprinting and background check requirements prescribed in section 15-512.B. The state board of education shall adopt rules to carry out the purposes of this section. A person who is issued a certificate pursuant to this section is not required to meet any requirement prescribed in section 15-532, 15-533 or 15-756.09 or as may be further prescribed by law.C.
