Rule 80.1 - Notice of Appointment of Guardian(a) Guardian of a Spendthrift. The guardian of a spendthrift appointed under 14 V.S.A. §§ 2681-2693 shall give notice of the appointment and notice that contracts, gifts, sales, or transfers of real or personal estate made by the person under guardianship after the date of the appointment will be held void. Notice shall be given as soon as possible after the appointment by publication in a designated newspaper of general circulation in the probate district where the guardian was appointed, or such other location as the court may direct. Notice shall also be promptly sent by first class mail to any creditor known to or reasonably ascertainable by the guardian. (b) Other Adult Guardians. A guardian appointed under 14 V.S.A. § 3069(a) shall give notice as provided in subdivision (a) of this rule if the court, considering the circumstances of the person under guardianship, requires such notice in specifying and defining the powers to be exercised by the guardian under 14 V.S.A. § 3069(c).
