Rule 58 - Entry of Judgment

The judge shall approve and sign the judgment, and the register shall thereupon enter it. A judgment is effective only when entered as provided in Rule 79(a). Entry of the judgment shall not be delayed for the taxing of costs. Attorneys shall submit forms of judgment upon direction of the court. A form of judgment submitted in accordance with this rule shall be served upon all parties, who shall file any objections within 7 days after service upon them unless the court orders such objections to be filed earlier.

Reporter's Notes-2018 Amendment

Rule 58 is amended to extend its 5-day time period to 7 days consistent with the simultaneous "day is a day" amendments to V.R.P.P. 6.
