Section 1.02 - License; Certificate of Eligibility Required The Supreme Court shall grant a license evidencing admission to the bar of Tennessee only upon presentation of a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Board under section 9.01 of this Rule. The applicant shall comply with Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 6 and obtain the license on or before the first of the following to occur:
(a) expiration of bar examination or transferred Uniform Bar Examination ("UBE") scores as provided in sections 3.05(b) and 4.07(c); or(b) two years from: (1) the date of the notice that the applicant successfully passed the bar examination; or(2) the date of the notice of the Board's approval of the application for admission under section 3.05, section 5.01 or section 10.06 of this Rule.(C) All background investigations are invalid upon expiration of the two-year period under section 6.03. If the investigation expires after issuance of the Certificate of Eligibility but before licensing and expiration of scores, the applicant must request a supplemental background investigation as provided in section 6.03(b).
