(a) An attorney representing a defendant at a preliminary hearing or in a court case shall sign an entry of appearance and provide the same to the Magisterial District Judge or file the same with the Clerk of Courts before the beginning of the pending proceeding.(b) If provided to the Magisterial District Judge, they will not file the entry of appearance, but shall transmit the same with the docket transcript and the same shall be filed of record with the docket transcript with the Clerk of Courts.(c) An attorney who has been retained or appointed by the court shall continue such representation through direct appeal or until granted leave to withdraw by the court pursuant to Pa.R.Crim.P. 120(A)(4).Amended effective 4/18/2019.
