Yamhill Supp. L. R. 7.015

As amended through June 11, 2024
Rule 7.015 - PLEAS, TRIALS AND RELATED APPEARANCES
(1)Entry of Plea. Pleas of guilty or no contest are scheduled through the master calendaring clerk for the court session designated for pleas. The court will not accept a guilty or no contest plea unless the defendant has first read and completed a Petition to Enter a Plea of Guilty or No Contest.
(2)Time of Appearance on Citation. Persons who are issued a citation to appear on a crime are to be cited to appear on 1:30 PM on Wednesday or Friday that is not otherwise a holiday.
(3) Case Assignment. The court maintains a modified individual case assignment system in which judges manage individual cases. At the discretion of the court, any of the four judges may hear any portion of any matter, including matters that may have been designated for other judges. Issues relating to assigned cases, including scheduling and procedural questions, are to be directed to the assigned Judge.
(4) Continuances. Absent exceptional good cause, continuance requests or motions brought to the court after 11:00 AM the day before the trial or other appearance will be denied.

All requests for continuance must include whether any parties to the proceeding object to the requested postponement.

(5) Scheduling. Scheduling for all matters not assigned to a judge should be directed to the calendaring office staff.
(6) Affidavit and motion to change judge. An affidavit and motion for change of judge shall be made at the time and in the manner prescribed by ORS 14.260. In contested cases an affidavit and motion to disqualify any judge of the 25th Judicial District must be made within five (5) days after the cause, matter or proceeding is at issue upon a question of fact. Cases are at issue for purposes of this rule when they are set for a contested hearing, motion, demurrer or trial, or they are specifically assigned.
