Section 2.2 - Election
(a) Candidates seeking election as a lawyer-member of the Board must be eligible to be a lawyer-member of the Board under ORS 9.025, including maintaining a principal office within the region that the candidate seeks election.
(b) The election of lawyer-members of the Board will be conducted according to Article 8 of the Bar's Bylaws. Newly elected governors and officers of the Bar take office on January 1 of the year following their election.
(c) Any member of the Oregon State Bar, or the board of governors by its own motion, may request that the board determine a candidate's eligibility for the board pursuant to ORS 9.042. The board must provide written notice of the request to the candidate whose eligibility will be determined. The board will also provide the candidate, and any member who requested determination of a candidate's eligibility, the opportunity to submit additional written statements and to be heard before the board prior to a determination. The board must notify the candidate, and the person requesting a determination of the candidate's eligibility, of its determination and the reasons for its determination.
