Rule 1.13 - Electronic Signature and Submission(a) For purposes of this rule, "Form" means only a form made available by the Bar on its website for electronic submission to the Bar through the Bar's website and "filer" means the attorney using the Form and self-identified in the completed Form. As to any Form obtainable or accessible only by means of a login, the use of a filer's login constitutes the signature of the filer for purposes of these rules and for any other purpose for which a signature is required. In lieu of a signature, the document shall include an electronic symbol intended to substitute for the signature, such as a scan of the filer's handwritten signature or a signature block that includes the typed name of the filer proceeded by an "s" in the space where the signature would otherwise appear. (b) When a Form requires a signature under penalty of perjury, in addition to signing and submitting the Form electronically, the filer shall sign a printed version of the Form and retain the signed Form in its original paper form for no less 30 days.(c) An attorney or LP may submit a Form through the Bar's website at any time, except when the Bar's electronic filing system is temporarily unavailable.(d) Filing a Form pursuant to this rule shall be deemed complete at the time of electronic submission.Rule 1.13 added by Order dated May 3, 2017, effective 1/1/2018.
